Working…
After long time wandering, I finally started to work. The job is not particularly interesting, nor is the salary satisfying. But so far I am happy with what I’ve got so far.
I am always passionate about many things. Colleagues asked me what I do after work. I do not know what to answer. There is no such thing as “after work”. Not that I mean I am a workaholic, but working on different things is equally fun.
So after working hour…
French. I am fascinated by French culture and language. Even though I do not have much time, I still manage to learn a little bit each day. I am also crazy about French musicals, watched “Romeo et Juliette” many times already without subtitle. Maybe the best way to feel the beauty of musical is not to understand everything, but try to pull up all the emotions. And that is where the beauty lies.
Web design. I have to admit I am not really a web designer. I have seen so many fabulous designs from the internet. What’s more, there are Front Engineers, I have no idea what’s left for me to entitle myself. A few people asked me to design their website already. I charged small amounts of fees. The day before yesterday, one former colleague who used to be the sales department manager called me. I sent him some links of the websites I have done, he is astonished and asked me to do his company website (he is preparing to start his own legal translation company now). At last, I told him that I can do the website and do not want to copy anyone else’s website and he wanted to pay me double the price I asked for.
Being honest and sincere is very important. You can steal something easily, but you will never be able to create it. What I learned for web design is that I can try to improve myself to the great designer’s standard, but I can never copy the other’s code without knowing how it works, nor will I use other people’s template.
I am currently working on 4 web design projects. Hopefully next month I can get financially independent so I do not have to spend any more money from my parents. It is kind of hard though, because I suck at personal communication. Even when I’ve done some work for other people, I still feel embarrassed to ask for money.. Alas.. Money is the last thing I want to talk about.
